For the third time since 2019, a workshop on hybrid collaboration is being held as part of the ECSCW. We were able to contribute two exciting perspectives.

The ECSCW, the EUSSET Conference on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work, was held in Munich this year. On June 30, the International Workshop on Hybrid Collaboration convened there for the third time to jointly explore the latest perspectives on the future of hybrid work. Participants from the PRAESCO team were also present and enriched the workshop with valuable academic contributions:

Together with collaborator Dr. Juliane Busboom, Ronda Ringfort-Felner from the Experience and Interaction Design research group presented her ongoing findings on hybrid work as a “Third Space.” In their position paper, the authors explored the inherent asymmetries of these settings and how they can be addressed.

Prof. Dr. Frauke Mörike and Dr. Anne Deremetz from the Work, Inclusion, and Technology research group also provided important onsights through their presentation and publication . They drew attention to the specific challenges that people with disabilities face in hybrid settings due to implicit performance and visibility norms.

The conference provided an excellent platform for bringing together empirical observations, conceptual analyses, and design-oriented ideas to speculate on diverse futures for hybrid work. We would like to thank all the organizers and participants of this event for the open space and the inspiring discussions.
